Pakistan Association of Urological Surgeons (PAUS) has come a long way since its inception. Our journey may have been slow but our direction has definitely been forwards. I consider myself lucky in having a very active executive council, especially the members from Karachi. We certainly hope that other members will soon be able to contribute equally.

It is with great pleasure and hopes that a website for PAUS is being re-launched. The earlier website became dormant and the material untraceable for technical reasons. The current site is registered in the name of PAUS and we hope that this will continue in spite of change of site administrator. We are hoping that the members will adopt this site as the center for communications. This will certainly bring the association together. I am sure exploring the features of this site will be self explanatory. Suggestions are welcome to improve the website experience. Eventually this site will be the major portal of communication with the association for membership, updating your profile, suggestions especially any amendments can be circulated through this channel for vetting, on-line members' directory, links to other associations, links to interesting Urology sites and maybe, one day, even online transactions. etc.

We should make this our portal for education. Not for just conventional education but freedom of expression with discussion forums and blogs to bring about a change in the way we think. 'Education either functions as an instrument which is used to facilitate integration of the younger generation into the logic of the present system and bring about conformity or it becomes the practice of freedom, the means by which men and women deal critically and creatively with reality and discover how to participate in the transformation of their world'.

The question should be, is it worth trying to do, not can it be done.
