PAUS lost its founder, eminent urologist of Pakistan and wonderful person last month
Urologist Professor Farkah A Khan, who passed away on Thursday, was laid to rest here on Friday. The funeral was held at his house, 1A, White House, 2, Sundar Das Road, near Zaman Park. He is survived by his wife and three daughters. Khan was a successful doctor at the King Edward Medical College. He was also a doctor for the Pakistan cricket team. He was awarded a Sitari-i-Imtiaz. Khan authored two books waiting for Orders: Organisation Culture and Social Anthropology of Medicine in Pakistan, published in 2000, and Murree during the Raj, which was released earlier this month. Khan helped set up the Murree Museum and the King Edwards Medical University museum. He was appointed chairman of both museums. He was a cousin of cricketers Imran Khan, Majid Khan and journalist Khaled Ahmed. He was a talented sportsman himself. Former Pakistani test cricketer Sarfraz Nawaz Malik cited Khan as the person who taught him reverse swing.
